It’s almost a nursery!

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

We’ve had a busy few days (do I say that every time?).    Poor “L” fell yesterday, and had to go in to the hospital for a few hours of monitoring, just to make sure that both she and baby were safe (they were fine thankfully).   While I was sad that she had to spend a few hours in a hospital bed (and not eating or drinking in case they had to operate), but it was so nice chatting with her.   She’s such an awesome person.    Honestly I never thought we’d ever get the chance to adopt (it’s not an easy road and there are no promises) but to have the chance, and to have it be with L & M is just beyond what I could have dreamed of.    Not only are we being blessed with adoption, we are being blessed with having these amazing people in our lives.

Tonight’s big excitement is the progress in the nursery.   Rick is putting the crib together as we speak (yay!!!) and yesterday we found the BEST deal yesterday.  I have wanted an upholstered glider or rocker ever since Bella was a baby, but could in no way justify the expense.   But I’ve been looking, researching and dreaming about them lately.   I’ve also been stalking Craigslist.  And yesterday I found a “the deal”.  A Best Chair Company upholstered glider, in pristine condition (only sat in a few times) for $35!   WOOHOO!   And in a color that was perfect for the room.   I’m ridiculously excited about that darn chair.   :)

Time to wrap up my rambling as I’m crazy tired (sure there is a lot more of that in my future).   A few pics of the nursery – so happy with it – and SO thankful for all the people who have helped us out and passed things along to us.  We appreciate it more than I could ever say.

Adding in some pink…

So a few people think I’m a bit crazy with the blue room for a girl – but it won’t be just blue, the pink is coming!   Here’s a peek at the nightstand Rick painted pink yesterday – love it!     The photo isn’t the best (taken with the phone) but you can get the idea.   Can’t wait to start putting everything together – now I just need to stalk the UPS man for things like my crib (which, weighing 70 pounds and coming via UPS ground, should arrive by the time the baby is 18 months old).
